It’s hard to make a grey interior appear cheerful and well-lit, but a combination of windows, recessed lighting, and a glass-paneled door has achieved just that in this basement project from Burke, VA (hint: the white trimming helps lighten things up further, and the stair railing with half-wall lets in more light from the upstairs). It’s so bright that you can hardly notice the large access door unless you look closely. Meanwhile, an all-white bed contrasts sharply against a bold accent wall with recessed lighting, and an under-the-stairs storage space makes maximum usage out of every crevice. A full bathroom with soft lighting has an extra wide vanity sink, overhead lighting, and a tub enclosure with retractable shower wand.
