Wilfredo Lopez, Project Manager
Willy has been with BasementRemodeling.com for six years — and in that time, he's done almost every job the company has. Driver, logistics manager, project manager. He knows how the operation works from the inside out, and that knowledge shows up on every project he runs.
He started in construction as a hobby. Now it's his career, and he's still learning something new every day.

From El Salvador to the Job Site

Willie came to Maryland from El Salvador thirty years ago. His first job in the US was in a restaurant — customer service was where he learned how to work with people, how to stay calm under pressure, and how to get things done when it's busy and nothing is going according to plan. Those skills turned out to be surprisingly useful in construction.
He got into the trades the way a lot of people do: he started fixing things around his own house. What began as a weekend hobby became something he couldn't stop thinking about. He got stuck on it — in the best way. Construction gave him a way to build something real, solve real problems, and keep growing.
He joined BasementRemodeling.com as a delivery driver, picking up materials and learning the flow of projects from the outside in. Then he moved into logistics, managing materials, contacting vendors, and keeping track of inventory for every job the company was running. By the time he stepped into the project manager role, he already understood how every piece of the operation fit together.

A Project Manager Who's Done It All

As a project manager, Willy oversees jobs from start to finish — coordinating the crew, communicating with clients, and making sure things stay on track when they inevitably get complicated. He's the first to admit that project management is harder than he expected. He's also the first to say he loves it.
What keeps him engaged is the unpredictability. Every basement is different. Every project brings something he hasn't seen before, and that keeps him sharp. He especially values the teammates who know how to problem-solve on the spot — the ones who can look at an unexpected situation and figure out exactly what to do.
One of his most memorable projects was a recent one: a full basement build with two and a half bathrooms and a custom wet bar. It was the most complex — and most expensive — project the company had tackled. Willie is proud of it.

What Homeowners Can Expect

Willy's background in customer service never really left him. He takes communication seriously, and he makes himself available when clients need answers — even when those calls come at midnight because an AC unit stopped working and the homeowner is wondering if it's related to the basement work.
Clients can expect someone who picks up the phone, figures out the problem, and gets it handled. That's the standard Willie holds himself to on every project, and it's the standard he expects from everyone working under him.

Beyond the Job Site

Outside of work, Willy keeps moving. He plays soccer, spends time at parks and in the mountains, and makes a point of carving out quiet time to recharge — just him, some open space, and a chance to reset. When he's home, he enjoys watching TV and being with his family.
He's also someone who thinks about the future. Willy's ambitions go beyond basements — he wants to keep growing in the industry and eventually work on full home construction and renovation. For now, he's focused on doing the best possible work on every project that comes through the door.
His outlook on the job captures everything:
> "Every basement is different. I like when there's a tough situation — that's when I learn the most."
That's Willy. Always ready for what comes next.
