2019's Most Unique Basement Wet Bar Designs

The wet bar design scene is constantly evolving, with fancy, unique, and practical variations popping in and out every year. Now that 2020 is coming up, what were the most popular 2019 basement wet bar designs? Here are five of the most unique (and our personal favorite) designs of the year.

1. Wine bar

A new and popular trend for wet bar design involves shelving or refrigeration specifically made for wine. These not only add a unique aesthetic look to your wet bar, but they're also pretty handy! Wine bars are perfect if you have a small, but worthy, wine selection and prefer to show it off instead of hiding it away in a cellar.

2. Open shelving design

An open shelving look is a timeless wet bar design choice. The open shelves provide a unique look to a basement wet bar, and you can showcase your spirits collection. An open shelving design is also often paired with wine bar shelving, which looks great together. Overall, open shelving is stylish, practical, and works well with pretty much any wet bar design size.

3. Classy basement wet bar

Aside from boosting the value of your home, a fancy wet bar can add an extra layer of class to your downstairs space. Building a classy wet bar is a more expensive and complicated undertaking than other designs, but that’s why they’ve earned the title of “classy”—they’re entirely worth it for the beauty alone.

4. Unique space-saving

We've included this entry for anyone who's more practically minded. While under-the-stairs wet bars don't allow you to go all-out with the design, they're typically simple to build, save a significant amount of space, and offer a pleasant combination of practicality and aesthetic appeal.

5. Authentic experience

This type of wet bar offers an authentic bar-like experience without having to leave your home. It's perfect for any occasion, whether it be a quiet night with a significant other or a rowdy game night (and if 2019 hasn't been a great year for you, it's a classic, tried-and-true environment in which you can cry and contemplate existence).
